UMEC(HK) and European R&D Institute INL Explore Collaboration Opportunities

Two representatives from the International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory (INL) paid a visit to UMEC(HK) today. João Gaspar, Head of Department and Diogo Aguiam, Staff Researcher of the Department of Micro and Nanofabrication, INL exchanged the technologies and experience regarding microelectronic engineering with us. INL is founded by the government of Portugal and Spain to perform interdisciplinary research and technology deployment, covering technologies like systems engineering, spintronics and nanodevices.

This visit served as a golden opportunity for both parties to understand the current microelectronics development in the regions and explore collaboration opportunities. We demonstrated our advanced technologies in AI chips for facial recognition, 3D TV and AI vision for autonomous patrol surveillance. The representatives of INL had shown great interest in the technologies and given their brilliant insights into the development. UMEC(HK) will continue to enhance global collaboration and prepare ourselves to step further in the modern AI race.

INL and UMEC(HK) shared ideas on the microelectronic technologies and ecosystem
